PIM400-485

Overview

The PIM400 is used to connect the Mercury hardware to one or more wireless Schlage locks via a RS485 connection.

Connecting the PIM400 to the Controller

  1. Set the 2 | 4 wire (P5) to 2 wire setting by shorting RA- (Pin 1) to TA-(Pin 2) and TB+(Pin 3) to RB+(Pin 4) using two jumpers. 
  2. Attach the white wire(TR+) from the RS485 bus to TDA-.
  3. Attach the green wire(TR-) from the RS485 bus to TDB+.
  4. To power the PIM400 connect 12 - 24 VDC(P2) to power.

Couple the PIM400 to the HHD

  1. Remove the cover of the PIM400.
  2. Open the Schlage Utility application on the HHD( HandHeld Device).
  3. Click SUS Options.
    • Then click Connection Type and ensure the HHD is set to USB Connection.
    • Connect the HHD and the PIM400 via the provided USB cable.
  4. Return to SUS Options and click Device Option on the HHD.
  5. On the PIM400 press and hold the Link 1 Button (SW1).
  6. Press the Link 2 Button (SW2) three times.
  7. On the HHD, select Couple HHD to Device.
  8. If the success message appears the HHD is now paired with the PIM400.
    • Note: This will only have to be done once per PIM400 as it remembers the password for the device.

Putting the PIM400 into Link Mode

  1. Ensure the HHD is coupled to the PIM400.
    • Connect the HHD to the PIM400via the USB
    • If the PIM400-485 shows up on the HHD then the device is couple.
    • If you do not see the PIM400 follow our directions to couple the two devices.
  2. Select Device Options.
  3. Next, select PIM Properties.
  4. Click the Link tab.
  5. Select the Door you wish to pair and press the Link button.
  6. You may now pair the PIM and the door. 
  7. The PIM will remain in Link Mode for 30 minutes or until the door is paired
