RB8 Wiring

LSP has discontinued the RB2 and replaced it with RB8.

Synopsis:

This is the relay we control with the LSP NL4 to drop power to Mercury controllers and DDE servers. There is a small change in wiring, that if not done could cause premature failure of the NL4. This affects all systems with Power Management built or installed after 5/1/22.

Description:

RB8 wiring – Used with the NL4 to remotely control Mercury controller power. LifeSafety Power has discontinued the RB2 BluB0X uses for Mercury board power disconnect and replaced it with the RB8. The RB8 has a larger relay with a higher coil current. The RB2 could use the trigger wire from the NL4 as a ground path.(25mA) Due to a higher relay current, the RB8 requires an unswitched power pair, plus the trigger wire from the NL4.
