Specifications

This Architectural and Engineering Specifications document utilizes MasterFormat™ April 2016 Edition and SectionFormat™ / PageFormat™ December 2009 Edition standards by the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). 

This document specifies the architectural/engineering and bid criteria for a Physical Access Control System (PACS) with a cloud-based Hosted Security Management System (HSMS) software that controls and monitors networked intelligent system controllers, card readers and personal identification devices, portal control devices, input/output interface hardware and power supplies.

    2. Video Smart Wall (Smart Wall):
      1. Description. Flexible and hardware independent video wall consisting of standard servers and video displays, managed by Video Management Systems (VMS) Smart Wall server software, capable of programmatically displaying all video data in a single-site VMS system or centralized multi-site surveillance monitoring center.
      2. Smart Wall shall consist of:
        1. Management Server Computer. VMS system server computer running Management Client software, to provide Smart Wall Builder function. See Section 28 23 00, PART 2 PRODUCTS for VMS Management Server computer and software details.
        2. Smart Wall Computer. At least one VMS computer dedicated to running the Smart Client software, to provide real-time Smart Wall operation and user control of, and interaction with, Smart Wall display content. See Section 28 23 00, PART 2 PRODUCTS for VMS Smart Client details.
        3. Smart Wall Design. Consult with manufacturer regarding Smart Wall design to determine the required Management Server Computer and Smart Wall Computer hardware and operating system specifications, including video card specifications, to support the number and size of Smart Wall display monitors.
        4. Video Display Monitors. Any number of consumer-quality video display monitors with the following characteristics:
          1. Any size and resolution of video display including full HD and 4K resolutions.
            1. Any manufacturer.
      3. Application Functionality shall include:
        1. Smart Wall Builder. Definition of any number of smart walls, including but not limited to:  
          1. Size and position of individual monitors.
          2. Camera grid layout and display window content.
        2. Smart Wall Control. Real-time control of Smart Wall layout and content.
          1. Dynamic User Control. Control of Smart Wall layout and content via drag-and-drop of Smart Client display items including: views, cameras, hotspots, carousels, maps, still images, static or dynamic HTML pages, alarms, user-provided texts, bookmarks (bookmark image or looped bookmark playback) and System Monitor status display.
          2. Control. The control function provides:
            1. Manual or rule-based display of any camera in a distributed setup based on Milestone Federated Architecture or Milestone Interconnect.
            2. Interactive and remote controlled playback of recordings on the Smart Wall.
          3. Automated Control. Rules-based automatic event-driven control of Smart Wall layout and content, such as motion detection, I/O, integrated third-party applications, time profile, and video analytics events.
          4. Instant Change of Camera. Drag-and-drop placement of a different camera in a Smart Wall Layout’s camera window, to instantly change the content to video from the new camera, according to the camera window’s current timeline position.
          5. Layout Change. Change of Smart Wall layout results in instant redisplay of layout window content per the new layout’s content definitions.
          6. Map-Based Camera Display Update. Drag-and-drop cameras into a Smart Wall content display window from any map.
        3. View-Based Operator Collaboration. Smart Client users have Smart Wall layouts available as a View, to support operator collaboration.
