Summary Configuration/Decommissioning of Relay Elevators in BluSKY

Overview

These instructions can be followed at a high level to create or delete traditional relay elevator hardware in BluSKY. Care must be taken when following the steps - do not deviate from the sequence, or else data may be lost/corrupted.

Instructions to Configure

These instructions assume that a System and Facility are already configured:

  1. Add floors on the Floors tab of the Facility (on the edit page)
    1. You can have extra floors, but you must have at least the floors that will have an output relay associated with/button control.
  2. Add Elevator Banks on the Elevator Banks tab of the Facility (on the edit page)
  3. Add Elevator Cars on the Elevator Cars tab of the Facility (on the edit page)
    1. Add front/rear doors as applicable
    2. Add floors serviced by each Car, don't add floors that don't have an Output relay.
  4. Create a Controller using this guide.
  5. Create a SIO Board using this guide.
  6. Create a Reader for each Car using this guide.
    1. Traditional setup, one per car.
  7. Create a SIO board for Output relays
    1. Most commonly using MR16-Out boards, but can be any board with outputs on it.
    2. Might use MR52s, for example, if only one Car and/or a few floors.
  8. Create Outputs for each Floor/car using this guide.
    1. Define outputs for floor relays - order matters, alternate front/rear if applicable
    2. Tip: Take advantage of Save+New button to save time.
  9. Create Elevator Hardware for each Car using this guide.
    1. Add one per Car
    2. Elevator Car Door field - should be left blank unless the Car has two doors
    3. Create an Elevator Override Access Level, assign it to this Car's hardware, populates with floors/24/7 access by default
  10. Create Elevator SIO Boards using this guide.
    1. Be careful with continuation between boards
    2. 1st field refers to the Elevator Hardware (Car) that you just created on previous step.
  11. Floor Stops - Validate Sequence for each Car
    1. Floor stops should be created automatically, but the sequence must be validated at least once so that it assigns the Outputs to the floor stops.  Use the Resequence Floor Stops button the first time, even if Output numbers in both the "Prior Output Number" and "Output Number" columns match so that it will assign the Outputs to the floor stops.
    2. Warning: If you forget this step, you will add floor stops in the Elevator Override Access level in the next step and you won't be able to see them after you click Save.
  12. Create or edit Elevator Override Access Levels for each Car
    1. Use Access Schedules, not Device Schedules
    2. If not using a custom Schedule, use global Schedule "Elevator on Card Access 24/7 (Global)" or "Elevator Open/Unsecured 24/7 (Global)"

Instructions to Decommission

Reverse the configuration steps to delete; sequence of deletion should be something like this:

  1. Elevator Override Access Levels
  2. Floor Stops
  3. Elevator SIO Board
  4. Elevator Hardware
  5. Outputs on SIO boards for the floors/elevator buttons
  6. Readers
  7. SIO Board/MR16Outs
  8. Controller - only if not also being used for something else
  9. Facility - Elevator Cars for all cars in the relay's bank
  10. Facility - Elevator Bank tab for the bank itself
