Release Notes 03-31-17
Feature Improvements
This release has 3 exciting changes that will help buildings run more efficiently through increased analytics and intuitive screens
- System Control and Monitoring screens have been redesigned to expose more information in an easy to understand format. Portals, Elevators, Alarms, and Events screens have been redesigned. In addition, we have added the new control screens for Control Points and Monitoring points. We also added a “Control All” screen where you can move from one analytic screen to the next within the same browser window.
- Power Analytics have been added to our suite of tools.
- Expanded List View and Search Improvements. BluBØX Continued to roll out the improved search criteria to new screens. You now have the expanded search capabilities for Cards, Distribution Lists, Notification, and Schedules.
System Control and Monitoring Screens
Over all the focus has been to enable the same filtering we have implemented in the rest of the site. Each of the screens has increased filtering abilities to focus on exactly the elements you want to monitor. We have moved the historic elements for Alarms and Events from the initial screen to their own tab. This enables you to drill into the information quickly.
Control All
- This is a new screen. It enables an operator to go to one screen and flip from one control screen to the other. You will have access to all control and monitoring screens.
Portals
- The portals screen has been redesigned. Now the portals show the status in a tighter more intuitive design. You can see if the portal is open and if it the portal is locked or unlocked.
- You will see the action buttons at the bottom of the screen.
- Mode – Give the operator the ability to change the mode of the portal. You can quickly change the portal from “Card only” to ‘Card or Pin”, if you have an urgent need to increase the security of your site. This setting is pushed to the controller and is persistent across controller reboots, but not across controller sync’s.
- Expand/Collapse – You can expand all systems to expose all portals by selecting “Expand” or collapse by selecting the “Collapse” button.
- The other buttons you are already familiar with.
Elevators
- The elevators screen has been redesigned. Just like Portals it is a tighter more intuitive design with the actions at the bottom of the screen. You can see if the floor/floor stop is on schedule ( ), Manual Control ( ), Unlocked ( ), or Locked ( ).
Alarms
- Alarms were majorly redesigned. The previous screen was too busy and cramped, especially for those customers accessing Alarms via devices with small screen size, like cell phones. We broke out the incoming Alarms, Intrusion, and Alarm History into separate screens. Each screen is simple and more intuitive.
- Like the other design changes the screen is simpler and all the action buttons are at the bottom of the screen.
- You will notice in the screen shots below there is a column “Meta View”. This column will show you the status of the alarm, means open, or not actioned, means closed, or actioned.
- The intrusion screen shows a lot of status with icons. In a glance, you can see if the IPS zone is armed, disarmed, or in an alarmed state. If you are more interested in the Intrusion points, you can see if the point is enabled and if it is energized or not.
- Icon explanations:
Armed Away
Armed Instantly
Armed Stay
Disarmed
Enabled Point
- Disabled Point
Bypass Point
Alarmed
Not Enabled. (Not Energized)
Enabled (Energized)
Intrusion
Incoming Alarms
Alarm History
Incoming Events:
- We split the previous screen into two parts, one tab for incoming events and another tab with the event history.
- Like the other design changes the screen is simpler and all the action buttons are at the bottom of the screen.

Power Analytics
Power Analytics represents a big step forward for BluBØX not only for Power Management, but is the first step in how BluSKY will automate building monitoring. This is because every module in BluSKY will have analytics and various forms of AI. This Power Analytics module demonstrates the foundation for our AI security platform.
Here are the basics of Power Management and Analytics, focusing on what is available today. Below represents our integration with LifeSafety Power and BluSKY’s ability to autonomously manage, analyze, diagnose, respond, and alert System Integrators and End Users of any power related issues.
- Define (Power Module, Power Controller, Server)
- BluSKY defines all LSP Power Controllers, Power Modules and a Power Gateway for each system in the Cloud.
- Manage (Power Diagnostics)
- BluSKY receives, controls and manages system power information in a dashboard from any device, anywhere at any time. No software is required. Just a browser and internet connection.
- Analyze (Power Analytics)
- BluSKY Power Analytics analyzes 44 power parameters every minute and over time to determine if things are within normal operating conditions.
- Diagnose, Respond and Alert (Rules)
- BluSKY Intelligence considers the information from Power Analytics and autonomously responds and alerts System Integrators and End Users of any power related issues. Autonomous responses can include cycling power to the power supply or any lock or relay. Alerts can be any combination of onscreen notification, email and SMS.
Expanded List View and Search Improvements.
BluBØX is continuing to roll-out the additional features we included in the People view list to the Cards, Distribution Lists, Notification, and Schedules. This effort is to improve the mobile experience.
