Hanwa Vision and Wisenet IP Camera Gold Standard for NVR

Overview

Gold Standard Settings

• The settings below have been tested for the following models of Hanwa Vision / Wisenet IP cameras:

  • XNB-6001 (with BBNVR 3.0.0.3)

• Video Profile Settings (Basic -> Video Profile)

  • You should have TWO H. 264 streams set up.
    • 
  • Sometimes, a Hanwa Vision/Wisenet IP camera may come with other streams created by default. Check first that these streams are not being used by the building for other purposes. If they are not, it is recommended that you delete these unused streams, leaving the 4 pictured below. Due to a quirk in the UI, you will have to delete from the bottom-most option in the list and work your way to the top. Highlight the row you want to delete using the radio buttons in the first column of the video profles table, then hit the delete button to delete the profile. :
  • Screenshots have been included as a sanity check to cover certain settings that are pre-selected and then greyed out in the Hanwa / Wisenet UI.

  • Settings for the H. 264 Livestream stream:

    • Name: <Naming Convention to be Decided On>
    • Codec: H.264
    • Profile Type:
      • Default Profile: Enabled (checked) (this is sometimes grayed out; see screenshots for Livestream stream settings below)
      • Edge Recording Profile: Disabled (unchecked)
      • Digital PTZ Profile: Disabled (unchecked)
      • Frame Lock Profile: Disabled (unchecked)
    • Audio in: Enabled (checked)
    • Crop Encoding: Disabled (unchecked)
    • Profile Properties:
      • Resolution:
        • Check what the native resolution is for the model of Hanwa/Wisenet camera you are configuring and choose the resolution to match.

        • Resolution by aspect ratio	16:9	16:10	4:3
          Live stream (width x height)	1280 x 720	1280 x 800	1024 x 768

      • Frame Rate: 15 fps
      • Maximum Bitrate: 1536 kbps
    • Advanced:
      • Bitrate Control: VBR
      • GOV Length: 15
      • Profile: Main (critical for BBNVR that this is Main. "High" will not work with BBNVR and will prevent the BBNVR from picking up the stream.)
      • Entropy Coding: CABAC
      • Dynamic GOV: Disabled (unchecked)
      • Dynamic FPS: Disabled (unchecked)
    • Multicast (RTSP): Disabled (unchecked)

• Date and Time Settings (Basic -> Date & Time)

  • Time Zone: <Select the time zone matching the building this camera is physically located>

  • Daylight Saving Time: Enabled (checked)

  • Synchronize with NTP Server: Enabled (radio button selected)

• WiseStream Settings (Video & Audio -> WiseStream)

• User Settings (Basic -> User)

  • Guest settings - Allow guess access: Disabled (unchecked)
  • Authentication setup - Allow RTSP connection without authentication: Disabled (unchecked)
  • Current Users Table:
    • The user created here will be used as the ONVIF login/credential for the BBNVR. Both the username and password at both the camera end and the BBNVR device end are case sensitive.
    • To create a user for a Hanwa camera, use the "Add" button and add in your username and password. Enable all available privileges and select "All" for Profile. Click the checkmark box in the "Use" column - this tells the camera that you would like to enable this user. If you don't enable this column, the user will be saved but it will not be usable as either a login for accessing the configuration UI nor as an ONVIF credential for the BBNVR to pick up the camera's streams.
    • After fiilling in all the columns in your new user's row, hit "Apply."
    • Once you have added your User, the users table should look like the second screenshot below. Notice the row with the BluB0X user and notice that the checkmark under the "Use" column is selected.:

• Troubleshooting Notes

  • I would suggest setting the configuration in the order given in this article (i.e. leaving the user configuration for last) so that the BBNVR's initial pick up of the camera stream comes with all the correct settings. I have seen cases where a user was set for a camera with a stream set to "High" instead of "Main" and it had stayed stuck in that setting in the BBNVR even after the stream had been changed to "Main". Leaving user configuration for last ensures that when the camera becomes visible to the BBNVR, it already has all the right settings on its streams.
  • Quad Hanwa cameras like the PNM-9085RQZ1 have not been tested on the BBNVR yet.
