EP and LP Series Controllers

Overview

Controllers are instrumental to making the connection to BluSKY. Controllers also contain the database that will be used to make real-time decisions for granting access. This section catalogs the Mercury Controller currently offered by BluBØX and provides some insight into their capabilities.

Controllers
Mercury controllers are able to communicate with the BluSKY service through an internet connection. BluSKY uses encrypted signals to communicate with the controller to update the on-board database. The Mercury controllers then use the on-board database to make decisions about how the access control system should behave.

EP/LP1501

The EP1501 and LP1501 seamlessly interfaces a single opening to a larger system (up to 16 openings) for easy expansion. Providing all of the intelligence and functionality of the Mercury family of controllers, the EP1501 and LP1501 are PoE capable and set the standard for powerful, reliable performance; all at economical price points.

Door Control :
One physical barrier can be controlled using single or paired readers. Two reader ports: Mag, Wiegand, or RS- 485 (RS-485 on one reader port capable of supporting two readers. Two supervised inputs, two relays. Diagnostic LEDs. Dedicated tamper input.

Access Control:
  1. 240,000 cardholder capacity, 50,000 transaction buffer
  2. 32 access levels per cardholder
  3. 19-digit (64-bit) User ID and 15-digit PIN numbers max
  4. Activation/deactivation dates
  5. If/then macro capability 

Card Formats:

EP/LP1502

The EP1502 and LP1502 reliably distribute intelligence to ensure the activities generated by select devices can be related to other devices for continued actions, without host intervention.

EP/LP4502

The EP4502 and LP4502 provide a two-door interface with auxiliary I/O, including onboard I/O for 2 readers, 8 supervised inputs and 4 relay outputs. In addition to centralized biometric template management, the controllers support a wide range of reader communication connections, including Wiegand, clock and data, RS-485, OSDP, and OSDP Secure Channel as well as all combinations of ID technologies such as magnetic stripe, proximity, smart cards, keypads, and LCD terminals.
