Edit a Monitoring Point

Overview
Monitoring Points are used to configure constant monitoring of specific Input. These Monitoring Points can then be used as a part of a Trigger to cause an event in the system. This article provides detailed instruction on how to edit an existing Monitoring Point.
Edit a Monitoring Point's Controller
This field is in reference to the top level Controller or Chain the Monitoring Point is a part of, not the where the physical connection is made. The following field, SIO Board, is where you define the physical connection to a SIO Board or Controller.
- Log in and navigate to Monitoring Points. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Monitoring Points
- Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
- Click the icon in the lower left side of the screen.
- Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
- Use the Controller drop down menu to select the correct Controller.
- Confirm changes with the button.
Edit a Monitoring Point's SIO Board
This field refers to the physical board the Input is attached to. In some cases the Controller and SIO Boards may refer to the same equipment.
- Log in and navigate to Monitoring Points. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Monitoring Points
- Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
- Click the icon in the lower left side of the screen.
- Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
- Use the SIO Board drop down menu to select the proper SIO Board
- Confirm changes with the button.
Edit a Monitoring Point's Name
- Log in and navigate to Monitoring Points. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Monitoring Points
- Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
- Click the icon in the lower left side of the screen.
- Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
- Use the Name text field to enter a new Name for the Monitoring Point
- Confirm changes with the button.
Edit a Monitoring Point's Input
- Log in and navigate to Monitoring Points. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Monitoring Points
- Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
- Click the icon in the lower left side of the screen.
- Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
- Use the Input drop down menu to chose the correct Input being used for the Monitoring Point
- Note: If the Input does not appear in the list double check the correct SIO Board is selected
- Confirm changes with the button.
Edit a Monitoring Point's Delay Entry Delay
- Log in and navigate to Monitoring Points. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Monitoring Points
- Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
- Click the icon in the lower left side of the screen.
- Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
- Enter the Entry Delay in seconds the Monitoring Point should wait until it triggers an alarm event.
- Confirm changes with the button.
Edit a Monitoring Point's Delay Exit Seconds
- Log in and navigate to Monitoring Points. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Monitoring Points
- Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
- Click the icon in the lower left side of the screen.
- Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
- Enter the Exit Delay in seconds the Monitoring Point should wait until it triggers an alarm event.
- Confirm changes with the button.
Edit a Monitoring Point's Monitoring Point Mode
- Log in and navigate to Monitoring Points. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Monitoring Points
- Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
- Click the icon in the lower left side of the screen.
- Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
- Use the Monitoring Point Mode drop down menu to select the correct Monitoring Point Mode, for help understanding the different modes refer to our Monitoring Point Mode guide.
- Confirm changes with the button.
Edit a Monitoring Point's Log Function Code
- Log in and navigate to Monitoring Points. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Monitoring Points
- Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
- Click the icon in the lower left side of the screen.
- Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
- Use the Log Function Code drop down to select the correct Log Function Code.
- Confirm changes with the button.
