Edit an IPS Group

Overview

An Intrusion Prevention System(IPS) Group is used to organize individual IPS Points into an easily managed group. This article gives details on how to make some of the edits possible to an existing IPS Group.

Edit an IPS Group's Name

  1. Log in and navigate to IPS Group.  Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> IPS Group
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the Name text field to enter the new name for the IPS Group.

  1. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Edit an IPS Group's Initial State

  1. Log in and navigate to IPS Group.  Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> IPS Group
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the Initial IPS Group State drop down menu to select the default state of the IPS Group.

  1. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Edit an IPS Group's Entry / Exit Delay

  1. Log in and navigate to IPS Group.  Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> IPS Group
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the Entry or Exit Delay text field to enter the time in seconds, for the entry or exit delay.

  1. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Edit an IPS Group's State Change Procedure

When an IPS Group changes state you may specify a certain Procedure to occur at the same time.

  1. Log in and navigate to IPS Group.  Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> IPS Group
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Locate the state change you wish to assign or remove the Procedure from.
    • Note: The Procedure must be created ahead of time, for help Creating a Procedure click here.
  5. Once you have found the correct state, use the drop down menu to select the correct Procedure to run.
    • Note: If you wish to remove the Procedure select the blank option at the top.
  6. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.
