Uncommon Reader LED Behavior
Overview
Some people have noticed that LED lights for some Readers do not always flash or display as expected. In this article we will go over some of the possible reasons you may notice this behavior.
Paired Reader Not Displaying Green When Unlocked
When Readers are in a paired configuration the external or unsecured side will not display green when unlocked. This is actually meant to provide safety from would be opportunists on the unsecured side of the door hoping to gain entry.
Occasional Blinking While Locked
This is another built in convenience and safety feature. This occasional blinking is to provide a very subtle message that the Reader is still communicating with the System. This feature is particularly helpful for security professionals diagnosing possible connection issues. Not all Systems are configured this way, so don't worry if you never encounter it.
