How To Enable a Destination Dispatch Elevator (DDE) Remote Server (ARK-1123) To Boot When Power Applied

Resolution

The following directions are pulled from the ARK-1123 User Manual (Attached below).  Please read the manual for full details, this article is intended to streamline the process for those people comfortable with making BIOS changes.

Boot into the BIOS (pg 31)

Turn on the computer and hold down the "DEL" key, Check for the -patch" code. If there is a number assigned to the patch code, it means that the BIOS supports your CPU. If there is no number assigned to the patch code, please contact an Advantech application engineer to obtain an up-to-date patch code file. This will ensure that your CPU's system status is valid. After ensuring that you have a number assigned to the patch code, press <DEL> and you will immediately be allowed to enter Setup.

Set Power On (pg 50)
  • Select "Chipset"
  • Select "South Bridge"
  • Set "Restore AC Power Loss" to "Power On"
    • This item allows you to select system restore states if AC power loss.

Save & Exit (pg 56)
  • Select "Save and Exit"
    • This item allows you to exit system setup after saving the changes.
