Overview

Readers are any devices that read and validate credentials to allow access. This article provides instructions on how to perform various edits to an existing Reader.

Edit a Reader's Controller

This field refers to the device communicating with BluSKY and not to the physical connection of the Reader. The SIO Board field is used to specify the physical connection.

  1. Log in and navigate to Readers. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Readers
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the Controller drop down menu to select the correct Controller.
  5. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Edit a Reader's SIO Board

This field refers to the physical board the device is connected to. In some cases this may be the same as the Controller. 

  1. Log in and navigate to Readers. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Readers
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the SIO Board drop down menu to select the correct SIO Board
  5. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Edit a Reader's Name

  1. Log in and navigate to Readers. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Readers
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the Name text field to enter the correct name.
  5. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Edit a Reader's Channel

  1. Log in and navigate to Readers. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Readers
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the drop down menu to select the proper Reader Channel.
  5. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Change a Reader's Configuration

  1. Log in and navigate to Readers. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Readers
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the Reader Configuration drop down menu to select the correct configuration.
  5. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Change a Reader's Setting

  1. Log in and navigate to Readers. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Readers
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the Reader Setting drop down menu to change the Reader's setting.
  5. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Edit a Reader's Keypad Mode

  1. Log in and navigate to Readers. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Readers
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the Keypad Mode drop down menu to select the correct Keypad Mode.
  5. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Edit a Reader's LED's Drive Mode

  1. Log in and navigate to Readers. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Readers
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the LED Drive Mode drop down menu to select the desired operation of the LED indicator.
  5. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Edit a Reader's Default LED Mode

  1. Log in and navigate to Readers. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Readers
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the Default LED Mode drop down menu to select the desired effect for the LED lights.
  5. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Edit a Reader's Location

  1. Log in and navigate to Readers. Main Menu-> Setup-> System Setup-> Readers
  2. Select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Click the editButtonNoText.png icon in the lower left side of the screen.
    • Note: If the edit button is not available ensure that only one entry has been highlighted.
  4. Use the Location drop down menu to select the correct Location.
  5. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.
