Door Forced/Door Held Configuration
- Can be configured at the System, Facility or Portal level and is inherited downward
- This should be configured at the system and facility level when starting to configure a new system
- Can either create and Alarm or an Event
- Best practice is to create an Event for all and then selectively create Alarms as required
For Access Control Systems Only
Portal Configuration
- Turnstiles, Doors, Gates
- Door Forced/Door Held can be treated as Alarms or Events
- Best practice is to create an Event for all and then selectively create Alarms as required
- Alarms need to be managed and cleared, Events do not
- Door Position Switches (DPS)/Door Contacts should be configured under Inputs
Monitoring Point Configuration
- Non-Portal
- Glass break, temp, motion, sound, smoke, etc.
- System/Facility/Monitoring Point can be configured to Inherit, Do Nothing, Event, Alarm
- Do Not create monitoring points for Portal inputs (DPS)
Rules
- Rules can be created to create a logical alarm based on an event and do that on schedule
- Rules can be created to take action based upon and event and do that on schedule
For Intrusion System Only
Monitoring Point Configuration
- All points are defined as monitoring points
- For the points that are configured under IPS
- Set to Do Nothing (IPS takes care of alarms)
- For the points that are NOT configured under IPS
- Set to Alarm probably
- Could also be set to create an event and use Rules to notify
IPS Configuration
- Perimeter Points
- Creates an Intrusion Alarm when “Arm Away”, “Arm Stay” and “Arm Instant”
- Interior Points
- Only creates an Intrusion Alarm when “Arm Away”
- 24/7 Points
- Define Monitoring Points as IPS Points
- Put IPS Points in Groups
Rules

- Rules can be created to take action based upon and event and do that on schedule
