How to Opt In or Out of Appearance Recognition Using a Person Reader

Prerequisites

• Ensure you have a valid credential registered in the system (e.g., card, mobile credential).

Steps to Opt In or Out

• Approach the Person Reader
  Locate a person reader in your building or designated area.

Present your Credential

• Tap your valid credential (card, mobile, etc.) on the person reader.
• The Person Reader will begin listening for instructions for up to 8 seconds.

Speak the Command

• Say one of the trained phrases clearly to the person reader:
• Example phrases:
  • “Enable face recognition for me.”
  • “Disable face recognition for me.”
• Tip: Use an exact phrase for best results. Variations also work.

Wait for Processing

• It may take 5 to 20 seconds for the system to process your request.

How to Confirm Your Status

• Opt-In Confirmation:
  Attempt to use the person reader. If you are recognized, you have successfully opted in.
• Opt-Out Confirmation:
• Attempt to use the person reader. If you are not recognized, you have successfully opted out.

Important Notes

• No Immediate Feedback:
  The person reader will not display confirmation of your opt-in/opt-out status.
• Future Updates:
  A confirmation email will be sent when your opt-in/opt-out status changes.

The following phrases were used to teach the Person Reader to Opt In or Opt Out of using appearance for identity.

Any of the below phrases or similar phrases will set a person’s Opt In to Appearance, Voice and Name to True and they Will be able to use their appearance as an identity credential at any Person Reader just like an access card.

2. Enable face recognition for me.
3. Start recognizing my face.
4. Allow face recognition.
5. Use face recognition for me.
6. Enable appearance recognition.
7. Turn on appearance detection.
8. Use my appearance for recognition.
9. Activate appearance-based recognition.
10. Recognize me by how I look.
11. Allow face recognition as my credential.
12. Use face ID for me.
13. Let my face be my identity.
14. Recognize me with my face as my identity.
15. Use my face to confirm my identity.
16. Let my face be recognized as my identity.
17. My face should be used as my identity.
18. Recognize my face to let me in.
19. Allow access with my face.
20. Open the door using face recognition.
21. Let me through by recognizing my face.
22. Grant me access with facial recognition.
23. Unlock with my face.
24. Activate face recognition.
25. Enable facial recognition for access.
26. Start face recognition for me.
27. Switch on face recognition.
28. Begin facial recognition.

Any of these phrases or similar phrases will set a person’s Opt In to Appearance, Voice and Name to False and they Will Not be able to use their appearance as an identity credential at any Person Reader. They will need to use a card or some other form of identification.
