OSDP
OSDP is an open supervised device protocol between access panels and end devices. It is a better communications approach:
- bi-directional
- more secure
- uses fewer wires
- longer range
- and multi-drop
It offers unlimited application enhancements such as:
- direct biometric support
- smart card interface
- authentication
- FIPS compliance
- interactive terminal capabilities
With an ever-growing list of compatible devices from numerous companies, the OSDP specification was picked up by the Security Industry Association (SIA) in 2012. This valuable specification has now become a valuable industry standard. Please read more about the standard at http://www.siaonline.org/Pages/Standards/OSDP.aspx
