What is the battery life of the batteries on the EP series controllers and BluBØX standard enclosures?

Question

What is the battery life of the batteries on the EP series controllers and BluB0X standard enclosures?

Answer

On the EP1502 and EP2500, the stored database will be saved for a minimum of three months after power is removed, assuming that the coin cell battery is fresh.

On the EP1501, a fully charged battery will store the database for a minimum of three days.  It can take up to 48 hours to fully charge the re-chargeable battery.

When a customer purchases BluB0X enclosures they come with LifeSaftey Power modules and 2-12 volt batteries.  These keep the controller and attached SIO boards fully functioning for 2-4 Hours. In addition to the Mercury Boards, the readers, peripherals and especially the locks (and their duty cycle) have a major impact in backup time. A typical battery provides 7 Amp/Hours of backup. If you budget about 1 amp per board with readers and locks, BluB0X's enclose for 4 Mercury boards, supporting 8 doors would last about 2 hours.
