How to Upgrade The Firmware for BluPOINT - Admin Tool
Overview
This article will cover how to upgrade the firmware or make changes to the BluPOINT Nano Reader and Beacon.

Initial Flash BluPOINT Nano (Internal)
- How to use the Cypress tool to flash the firmware on a new BluPOINT Nano device.

You might need to install the VC++ and a few other packages.

Need to include screenshots.

- Download the latest firmware -> See Dropbox
- Start "PSoC Programmer"
- Load firmware files (ex 00.00.25.hex)
- Select the file load button
- Select the file you want to flash to the BluPOINT Nano Device.
- See selection on the File name field
- Select "Open"
- Make sure to have power and ground wired to the BluPOINT Nano
- Plug MiniProg3 Program cable into BluPOINT Nano
- The end with the long pins needs to be pushed into keyed holes on the edge of the BluPOINT Nano
- There is a long pin on one edge and 2 long pins side by side on the other edge. The shorter ping must make contact with the 6 white dots. The shorter pins are springy.

- You must push down and hold the pins in place while selecting the program button.
- You will see the red "Not Powered" change to "Powered"
- Select the Program button.
- You will see the green progress bar fill up twice
- You are finished when you see "Programming Succeeded" message.
- The end with the long pins needs to be pushed into keyed holes on the edge of the BluPOINT Nano

Need to contact BluB0X Support to get an invitation to Testflight.

Select the link in the Testflight invitation emailed.

Install the BluPOINT Admin app.

Start BluPOINT Admin App.
Configure BluSKY User with BluPOINT Admin Rights
- Make sure the user who will be using the BluPOINT Admin App. or has the needed rights in the BluSKY Mobile App
Give User a BluID Credentials
- Person->Credentials->Add
- Select "Create New Card"
- Select "BluB0X Mobile"
- Select " Mobile Credential Pools"
- Select "Request" next to "Mobile Card Number"
- See External Card Number" comment "Getting Card Number...", after a few seconds you will see the message replaced with the card number.
- Select "Save"

Login/Logout - This must be a valid BluSKY login.

Select this to choose the BluPOINT device you want to work with. | ||
Selected Devices | Displays the device chosen in "Scan for Devices" it will display the device name and firmware version. | ||
Transfer Credentials | Use this to transfer the logged in users credential. This is used to test the BluPOINT device is working and simulates a swipe. Use should observe the portal or elevator releasing. | ||

Unlock BluPOINT
- Select Option. You will see an "Unlocking Device" pop-up.
- Once successful you will see additional settings in the ADMIN ACCESS section appear in blue. Ex. "Reboot" and "Disconnected"
Flash Firmware
- Need to unlock BluPOINT to enable Flashing Firmware
- Under Flash Firmware select the "Single" option. You will get a list of firmware to upgrade/downgrade to.
- Select the version and then "Done" at the top of the screen.
- Firmware will download. You will be taken back to the main screen and watch the firmware download.
MAC
- Need to unlock BluPOINT to enable Flashing Firmware.
- Select the MAC address, change the MAC Address and select "Update".
