Enabling or Opting In to Appearance and Voice Recognition with BluB0X Person Readers

Overview​

BluB0X Person Readers offer several convenient ways to use your appearance and voice as credentials. Below are the steps to opt-in to use this powerful and versatile identification method.

Instructions​

There are several methods to enable or opt-in to using your appearance and voice as BluID credentials for any Person Reader in your Facility.

Method 1: Via BluSKY Login​

  1. Login: Use your login and password to access BluSKY.
  2. Update Password: Change your password if needed.
  3. Preferences: Navigate to person preferences.
  4. Opt-In: Select the appearance and voice opt-in button.

Method 2: Through Your Administrator​

  1. Inform Admin: Request your administrator to opt you in.
  2. Admin Login: The administrator logs in to BluSKY.
  3. Record Update: They find your individual record.
  4. Enable Opt-In: Admin switches the appearance and voice opt-in slider from no to yes and saves the record.

Method 3: Using the Person Reader​

  1. Credential Presentation: Present your credential to the person reader.
  2. Voice Command: After selecting a floor, say “opt in for person recognition,” “opt in for facial recognition,” or “opt in to biometrics.”
  3. Automatic Activation: The system will recognize you and opt you in automatically, making an entry in the audit table with the date and time.

Method 4: BluSKY App Registration​

  1. Download App: Get the BluSKY app on your device.
  2. Registration Tab: Go to the registration tab on the login page.
  3. Form Submission: Fill out the registration form, select the opt-in button, and submit.
  4. Verification: BluSKY will send a link or code via email. Use it to verify your email and complete the registration.

Initial Use and Continuous Learning​

  • First Use: Present your credential to the person reader. It will learn your appearance in one session.
  • Continuous Learning: The system improves recognition accuracy over time as you use the person reader.
  • No Biometric Storage: The system does not store biometric information, only a likeness image for recognition purposes.

Opting Out​

To opt out of appearance and voice recognition, follow the same steps as opting in, but select the opt-out option instead. The change will take effect in a few minutes.
